MY STORY

A CRE-8-ive Vision

Being born in the paradisiacal country of Costa Rica and growing up surrounded by nature and clear blue skies gave me the inspiration as a child to create my toys from the supplies nature offered me.

I was only in the third grade when, thanks to my teacher, who recognized qualities I did not yet know I possessed, I won a scholarship from an art academy run by the Office of Costa Rican Cultural Affairs.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."

Pablo Picasso

"I think that I inherited my artistic ability from my family, which includes musicians, painters, sculptors and writers. But whatever its origin, I am very thankful that I have had both the ability and the opportunity to become an artist from a very early age, and art remains my primary passion to this very day."

When I was 24 years old, I develpoed an interest in opera, and joined the National Opera Company of Costa Rica. Around that same time, I was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy to one of the best schools in the world for Visual Arts.

After I graduated from art school, I moved back to Costa Rica for a short while, and then, continuing my world-wide adventure, I moved to New York City, where, thanks to the special visa I was granted because of my artistic abilities and accomplishments, I was able to begin working almost immediately and have been working in this beautiful city ever since.

I have a solid work history of graphic design for the fashion industry and others, which remains not only a livelihood but a genuine passion as well. I, of course, continue to create fine art on the side, and have exhibitions from time to time. Fine art, for me, is the most important exercise for my soul, and eventually, I channel my artistic creations into the graphic designs I create for the companies I work for in the fashion industry and related industries.

I like the challenge of developing complex creations, and through my extensive experience as an art director, I know the importance of team work in getting excellent work accomplished in an efficient manner. I am always eager to be be part of an inspired and energetic team.

"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success."
